lunar eclipse on guru purnima 2020

lunar eclipse refers to a state in which the Earth gets aligned between the Moon and Sun. As a result, the planet casts a shadow on the moon which makes some part of it invisible to humans. Today eclipse will witness only 60% of the Moon's surface obscured by the Earth's shadow. A complete lunar eclipse only takes place on full Moon nights and are very rare as they need all celestial bodies to be perfectly aligned with each other. The next full lunar eclipse will take place on May 26, 2021.

lunar eclipse on gurupurnima
We Indians have great faith in the positioning of the stars and eclipses. As per astrology, the change in the positioning of stars is not a small deal and it impacts the lives of every single individual living on this planet. And it is even more crucial when two major events fall on a single day. One such major day is due on Tuesday, July 16. On this day a rare lunar eclipse will take place after 149 years and India would have a special impact as this day coincides with Guru Purnima.
